Sujit Choudhry Creates Law Policies that Traverse the World While Building Valuable Networks in the Process

Sujit Choudhry has offered his professional advice on constitutional matters to emerging countries for many years. He has contributed in drawing new constitutions and amending old ones for many countries around the globe. He encountered constitutional questions in the course of his work that proved difficult. In search of answers, he realized that the information available is inadequate, obsolete, or completely unavailable. These incidents prompted him to act and create a source that would be reliable for all. That was the beginning of the Center for Constitutional Transitions.

This entity brings together legal experts from all over the world who offer their knowledge in creating evidence-supported policies. They pull information together that is useful in constitutions development and amendment. The organization works in collaboration with NGOs, the body of experts and multilateral companies. Together, they have been able to create a network more than 50 experts drawn from over 25 countries across the globe.

Life Lessons

Sujit Choudhry draws his expertise from his background training in law obtained from three countries. Considering that each country has its unique policies, histories, and cultures, he has different experiences from them all. These lessons have laid a good foundation for his work, particularly in policy and political decision-making. His experience of working in the various countries and with people from different cultural backgrounds has given him valuable life lessons. He has learned to approach issues from other people’s perspective. Sujit had a tendency of sticking to his way of doing things and often ended up discouraged if they failed. Sujit Choudhry is a renowned expert in constitutional law. He is a former student of McGill University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1992.
